Take Imperfect Photos

Scribble's advanced computer vision algorithms do some pretty magical things to your children's artwork photos so that they turnout amazing in a hardcover photo book. Our photo cleanup process is continually being torture tested by our own children (6 and up) with the intent that creating a photo book can be painless and something that your kids can be a part of too.

Here are some of the steps that  we go through for every photo that you upload:

1. Auto background removal: Throw it on the floor or a table to photograph your artwork. As long as there is reasonable color contrast, we'll remove the background from your photo (for example, no white paper on a white counter top). This allows us to isolate the artwork and add a background color in a later step.
2. Photo rotation: Sometimes our phones mixup the orientation of our photos (it's always the phone's fault) and we have to manually fix them in our Photos app. You can skip this step when uploading to Scribble and let us do some smart things to detect if a photo is incorrectly rotated.
3. Making your photo straight: Taking the perfectly straight photo can be a bit of a juggling act sometimes. We take the anxiety out of making sure you're perfectly aligned over your artwork and correct most off-angle photos.
4. Photo enhancements: Our smartphone cameras do an amazing job making our photos look great in imperfect situations. We take it a step further and tune elements like white balance, contrast, vibrance, and saturation. 
5. Background colors: We analyze the colors in every photo and make an initial suggestion for the best background color for each artwork piece. You can globally select a color theme based on our suggestions or optionally override a background color suggestion and choose one that suits the mood.

The interior pages of our hardcover photo books are printed on heavy 100# matte coated paper with premium color inks. Our covers are casebound matte laminated for a durable and vibrant, gallery-worthy appearance.

How do I Access My Free Scribble Digital Book?

1. Login and select the project that you would like view the digital book.
2. In the project menu, select "Public Sharing".
   
3. Click to copy the link provided for you Scribble digital book.
4. You can completely disable your digital book by selecting "Private". Note that Scribble digital books are not publicly listed anywhere and are yours to share. 

Yes! You can invite your partner, cousins across the country, or your child's teacher to contribute to a Scribble book.

We are personal fans of creating a collaborative book with other kids. This is a great way to see the creativity energy and inspiration that occurs when kids create  together. It's a fun way to create something that they can be proud of together. 

How Do I Invite Others?

1. To invite a collaborator, login and select the project that you would like to add them to.
2. In the project menu, select "Invite Collaborators"
3. Set their desired permissions. You can give them full access to administer the book or you can just let them add artwork photos.
4. Copy the provided invite link and share it via text or email.
5. They'll be able to click the link and create a Scribble account and automatically be added to your book.

Scribble hardcover books come in two sizes:

1. 11”x8.5” at $49.99 (including 24 pages)
2. 8.5”x8.5” sold at $39.99 (including 24 pages)

Each additional page over the included 24 page count is charged at $0.30 per page.

You may choose from two hardcover options: 8.5 x 8.5 inches or 8.5 x 11 inches. 

Each page features one piece of art and can accommodate an optional title and description.

Our printing presses require that our books have at minimum of 24 pages, otherwise the pages might not glue properly and could fall out. They also have a maximum limit of 200 pages due to the structural limitation of the binding.

The following are the various dates for order submission and shipping speeds:

• Free Shipping (USPS Ground 7-8 business days):  December 10th
• Priority Mail (5-6 business days):  December 12th
• FedEx Standard Overnight (1-2 business days):  December 15th
  

Book printing takes about 3-4 days after your order is submitted and approved. Our free ground shipping takes around 7-10 days depending on your delivery location. Note that selecting a faster shipping method will only impact the shipping time.

How much does shipping cost?

Scribble offers free ground shipping for products in the United States. There are additional shipping fees for delivery to Hawaii and Alaska. We offer additional expedited shipping options which are calculated at checkout. Expedited shipping prices can vary depending on the products ordered and the shipping destination.

What countries does Scribble ship to?

We are currently shipping inside the United States. 

Can I change my shipping address after an order has been placed?

Please email us to change your shipping address. Please note that we are not able to update shipping addresses once packages have been shipped. 

Can I ship one order to multiple addresses?

At this time, we can only ship to one address per order. To send products to multiple addresses, you must place separate orders for each address. 

The custom one-of-a-kind products that you create on Scribble are as unique as the creative artwork that goes into them. We are unable to refund orders due to customer created errors, including but not limited to:

• Customizations (such as text or background colors, cropping, rotations, etc.)
• Typos and misspellings
• Poor image quality or low resolution of file uploads
• Incorrect product selection (i.e. product size)
• Color differences between your home computer display and our printing systems

If you need to cancel your order for any reason, you can do this within SIX HOURS of placing your order by contacting us by email. Orders are placed into our production queue and we cannot guarantee cancellation without a penalty after six hours.

All sales are final and no refunds will be issued, except in the case of damaged or defective items. To file a claim, please email us within 14 days of receiving your order.
